Several days prior to the election, Fathers 4 Justice will announce the party that has shown the most public support for equal parenting.
Fathers 4 Justice Quebec President announces candidacy against BLOC Quebecois leader, Gilles Duceppe
English translation below
The president of Fathers-4-Justice is a candidate in the elections
The president of Fathers-4-Justice in Quebec, Daniel Laforest, is an independent candidate in the Montreal riding of Laurier-Sainte-Marie for the October 14 federal elections. Mr. Laforest's main battle as candidate will be to address the issue of equal parenting.
"I'm in Laurier-Sainte-Marie against the Bloc Quebecois leader Gilles Duceppe. Why against him? There is a motion on the table in Ottawa on parental authority which says that after a divorce, children can enjoy life with each parent equally. The Bloc Quebecois refused to support this motion. We, Fathers-4-Justice, find this unacceptable."
For the candidate, this election is the right time to address issues of equal parenting, shared parenting, protecting wealth for future generations and eventually to eliminate conditions that promote parental abduction.
The president of the organization stresses that the methods used by Fathers-4-Justice have often been criticized. By presenting himself as a candidate, Mr. Laforest took another route to be heard, and it will not affect motorists!
This is the third election of Mr. Laforest. He was a candidate in provincial elections in 2007 in the ridiging of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, as well as in the elections in Charlevoix in 2007.
